Programs
for Parents & Caregivers
(Newborn
to 6 years)
Our programs
for "grown-ups" offer information, advice, a chance to meet others and
make friends, as well as, a break from the kids! The age group of
the children that is covered in the course material is indicated beside
the program name.
The following
programs, offered during the day, may include childcare in our preschool
and nursery rooms. Supervised by qualified staff, we provide a program
for children two to five years, which offers free play, crafts and circle
activities. A fully equipped nursery offers tender, loving care for
infants and toddlers under two years of age.
BABES &
TODDLERS (8 to 14 months) – 6 WEEKS
What an incredible
change – becoming a mom. With your little one in tow, we’ll discuss
how children learn through play, stages of development, introducing foods
and much more. Offered in partnership with the Halton Regional Health
Department. Registration is required.
TODDLER COPE
(12 to 36
months) - 8 WEEKS
Halton Child and Youth
Services will facilitate this program. Videos, discussions and skill
building exercises will be used to develop strategies for you and your
toddler. Registration is required.
LOVING LIMITS
(2 to 5 years) - 6 WEEKS
Join us for
this 6 week evening parenting class and learn about parenting styles, ages
and stages, communication and behaviour management. Your knowledge
and skills will help you to set and follow through on reasonable limits
for your 2-5 year old. Registration is required.
WALK &
TALK - 12 WEEKS
An opportunity
for you to get out, enjoy the fresh air and talk while your children are
having fun singing songs, playing games and being creative. Nursery
care is also available. Follow our facilitator through Oakville,
receive helpful tips of the “do’s and don’ts” of basic exercise. Registration
is required.
MOTHERS
ARE PEOPLE TOO – 12 WEEKS
An excellent
selection of guest speakers visit the Centre each week to discuss family,
parenting, and women's issues. Childcare available for newborn to 5 years.
Registration is required.
