Our Mission Statement:
"To support, nurture and empower families, children and their caregivers.”

In 1980 a group of young moms met and recognized the need in Oakville for a place where parents could meet new friends, learn more about parenting and offer their children a healthy and safe environment where they could learn and play. This group of volunteer parents was committed to creating this special "place" in our community and from this energy the first program for the Oakville Parent-Child Centre was developed. "Mothers are People Too" began in a church basement and was the beginning of 30 years of program growth and development for the Oakville Parent-Child Centre...

H1N1 Flu Virus

The winter season promises to be different from previous years with H1N1 influenza circulating with the season influenza virus.  To prevent the spread in our programs, we at the Oakville Parent-Child Centre are encouraging children to:

  • Wash their hands with soap & water after they wipe their noses or cough;

  • To cough or sneeze into the sleeve; and

  • To have clean hands when entering the program.

If your child has a fever, persistent cough or runny nose, please keep them home.  During program, if we feel that your child is unwell, we will inform you and ask that you take your child home to rest.

REMINDERS:  (1) We will not be accepting any children into the program if they appear to be unwell; and (2) Please call the Centre to let us know if your child is sick or is going to be away.
