Frequently Asked Questions About Parent Support, Classes, Programs and Workshops
What kinds of parent support do you offer?
We offer a range of parenting and family support services, including parenting programs, educational workshops, individualized guidance, and help connecting families with helpful services and family resources. Support is designed to meet families at different stages and offer practical next steps that feel relevant to their needs.
Who are parenting and family support services for?
Do I need to register for parenting programs?
Program details are listed with each program so you can confirm whether advance registration is required or whether the program is drop-in with an OPCC account.
Are parenting programs offered in person or virtually?
Can I get one-to-one family support?
While we aren’t therapists, our team is happy to provide a listening ear, or help connect you with the right resources. We can provide assistance beyond our group programs or workshops, all you have to do is reach out to our Family Resources Coordinator, Vanchi.
How do I know which parenting program is right for me?
The right program depends on your current stage, the questions you have, and the type of support you are looking for. Some families want practical information through parenting classes, while others are looking for broader support, connection, or access to family resources.
Can you help me find family resources outside of OP-CC?
Yes. We can help connect families with family resources and community-based services beyond OPCC when additional support may be helpful. This can make it easier to find trusted information, outside services, and supports that match your family’s situation.
Can I reach out even if I am not sure what kind of support I need?
Yes. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you are unsure what kind of parenting support or program fits your needs, we can help you explore your options and find a place to start.
